i’m curious to know if the case has a place for a wrist strap (one reason I like Moment cases is the ability to attach a strap). I use my iphone quite a lot, and for me, it feels precarious to just have it in my hand

I use the Leica grip with a Moment MagSafe case, firm attachment but I can’t see how to attach a wrist strap to the case I have, are they different? Leica grip expensive their App supposed to give Leica feel.

The wrist strap attaches to the bottom right or left.

Hi Sandy. Yes, there is a place for the strap and it is supplied with the Fjorden purchase. Take a look at the photo in the post.

Thank you for the review - that sums up quite nicely the experience I have with the Fjorden, using it for more than a year now with the Leica Lux App. It improves the usage of the phone as a camera. And it helped me (though it sounds obvious) to find out why I am still not using it as much as I could and why I guess I will stick with my camera: the lack of a viewfinder on the phone. I know, could have known from the start, but sometimes one needs to find out what really makes one use a certain tool and not another one.

I thought the Fjorden would do the trick by adding camera like controls (and it does!), but it turns out: I am viewfinder addicted. I need the rest of the world to completely fade out and have the picture only in front of me to fully enjoy photography.

Don’t get me wrong: the Fjorden is a great product and I am using it and I do enjoy it a lot. And: it reminds me of the reason why I still (and certainly always will) enjoy a camera with my a viewfinder more than a phone.

I’m concerned that the case will become obsolete once one gets a new phone. Is the Fjorden designe for just a single iPhone model?

Hi Alphonse. I am going out on a limb here, but the Fjorden should be adaptable to future iPhones because it is wirelessly connected to the phone. You may need an updated MagSafe case, but you might need that in any event. The Fjorden grip and the case are entirely separate. Fjorden also supplies adhesive adapters that can be placed on the case.

Thanks, I went to their site and the modular approach makes sense.

Why use a plastic slab when you have incredibly advanced, versatile and ergonomic cameras. Oh l see, you're just lazy.

Thanks for the compliment, Chris.

I have the Leica model, more buttons, can be set for left handed, good if you only have a left hand! 2 stage shutter release but need to use Leica app, good but subscription after a year. Still getting used to it Apple have some restrictions on usability.

Interesting! I hadn’t heard about this app/gear product. Kudos on the inventor for being acquired by Leica. That pairing may make for exciting updates and features. Thanks for posting this review.

Thanks for your comment. I'm waiting for future developments, too.

My grip cracked after less than 6 months of use. Fjorden replaced the grip quickly but I’m not able to pair the new grip. I’m really frustrated. However, I found Project Indigo here. Using it very successfully

Patricia, interesting about the cracked grip and curious about why the new grip doesn't pair. If you solve this mystery, please let us know.

Fjorden replaced the cracked grip. New grip didn’t pair with my phone. It took several months to finally get it paired. Now I’m using Project Indigo. Don’t think I’ll go back to Fjorden or Leica Lux App

Very helpful and objective. Thank you. i am a Canon Shooter and my goto lens is the heavy, but beautiful 24-70mm 2.8L lens.. Its a beast for street. So, I keep looking at the Fuji or Ricoh for an easy camera for travel with some range.. small and pocketable. I just switched to the iPhone 16Pro Max as well from a Samsung and will look to guage the quality of the high megapixel, tiny sensor photography of the iPhone. I do not like to shoot with the phone as I love the canon grip and feel. This has been interesting to see what evolves. more innovation to come! Oh.. and I love the Moab Paper as well. Just got their 13x19 Pearl Metallic to give it a try.

David, I like the feel of my Fujifilm GFX 100. It's heavy brick, but well worth the effort. However, I felt obliged to try out the Fjorden because a lot of our younger subscribers rely on their smart phones.
